Abstract
Image processing represents an important research topic that has technological
outcomes in many different fields. During the seminar several applications of
2D and 3D image processing will be shown. In particular, a brief overview about
the Numip group, afferent to the Dept. of Biophysical and Electronical
Engineering of University of Genoa, and its research activities will be done.
In particular, two research results will be presented: the first one regards a
CBIR system used for Points of Interest recognition in a e-tourism scenario,
while the second one regards a multi-seed segmentation algorithm based on fuzzy
connectedness applied to MRI brain volumes.
